Random VIII

Hi everyone. I’m back from the trip to Cheung Ka Kai. It was, if nothing else, an eye opener to places I thought about going, but would never go on my own and so I am grateful for the experience. I look forward to sharing with you what I saw. Please be patient however, as I have to wait until the show for this trip airs on TV here before I can put up the photos.

In the meantime let’s be distracted with a Random. Someone asked me what this meant:

It reads, “I’m very well. I have returned. I’m surprised there are people who speak French [reading] this blog.”

Also at your request, another word for juxtapose is contrast. When you juxtpose two things you are basically contrasting them. Although I am comfortable living in Hong Kong, sometimes the  laidback Canadian lifestyle habits is juxtposed against the ever-changing and fast-paced living here.

And because this is a Random, I choose to touch on multiple topics today including posting photos I took a few years back from a trip. They are photos from when I went to Banff, Canada. A well-known place, because it is surrounded by the famous Rocky Mountains.

In the car. I miss driving.

In the car. This was me behind the wheels, but I do miss driving.

This is Banff Street.

This is Banff Street.

You can ride in this carriage around town. I didn't ask for the price though. Maybe something like $15-20 Canadian? That's about in $140HKD.

Banff is a small town and it's main street is lined with individual stores. This is probably the largest shopping complex (mall, plaza as well call it here) that they have there.

Hong Kong Squash Opening 2009

I thought this was previously published when I was at Cheung Ka Kai, but probably due to a mishap it wasn’t. Well here it is. An event I attended back in October.

The Hong Kong Squash Opening is organized and in part sponsored by Cathy Pacific Gale Well. We were honored to be invited to the HK’s very own Squash Opening this past October. We met several of the world’s best male and female squash players. It was an impressive turnout for the evening. Here are some photos from the event. Please enjoy.

Meet and greet at the reception among many, along with Mr. James Tien, Chairman of Hong Kong Tourism Board.
